The SBB rail network is like a big building this summer. Especially in Romandie, travelers must expect restrictions on certain roads. Three weeks after the introduction of the summer timetable, the CFF presented a good report

The good execution of the calendar is a challenge, said SBB Monday in a statement . But that has been mastered so far. Rail traffic is working well, the transition concepts for customers are working well, reports the railway company.

detours for 13,000 passengers

In summer, more than 30 large SBB shipyards are operated throughout Switzerland. It will be renewed from about 55 kilometers of road. Approximately 92,000 sleepers and 130,000 tonnes of ballast are used. For the first time, the work will be grouped together for the summer holidays. The interruption of the route lasts seven weeks – until August 26th.

Train passengers from Berne to Lausanne and Geneva, for example, accept longer travel times. Since June 30, there is no train between Lausanne and Puidoux-Chexbres VD. As a result, an average of 13,000 passengers must detours every day. Their journey time can be extended up to 40 minutes.

The SBB does not want to conclude on the pilot with a compensation application in Romandie. If you are traveling for more than 20 minutes for at least ten days, you can apply for compensation from CFF in the form of a unique discount voucher. To use this offer, customers must download an application on the smartphone. According to SBB, up to 1500 people have participated in the pilot project. These recorded 2500 trips. (si./sda)
