This is a rock of striking beauty that adorns the retention basin of Chli Ebnet. Since traffic is currently guided by a single lane and regulated by a traffic light, the stone is clearly visible to motorists during the waiting period.

"We found heavy rock in the excavation. After setting up, it was moved about three meters with the shovel, "says Guido Schuler, project manager for the civil engineering department in the canton of Schwyz. The founders are often used for designing open spaces. Thanks to the positive feedback, the stone will stay up.

Important source of nectar for bees and butterflies

"He is still standing on the ground, as soon as the basin is filled with water, it will no longer be so visible," continues Schuler. The retention basin is part of the Küssnacht south ring road and integrates well into the landscape. "A thin meadow is all around," says Schuler. The Magerwiesen belong to the most species rich habitats in Switzerland. The many herbs and flowers serve as pasture for butterflies and bees.

Resurfacing in September

Work for the SABA Giessenbach sewage treatment plant and for the retention pond began at the end of January (Bote report). They are located north-west of Zugerstrasse in the exit ramp (A4 Fänn connection at the south ring road) at the bottom of the watersheds. If the construction work can be completed as planned, a road rehabilitation is planned in September for about 400 meters along the North- / Zugerstrasse. In 2014, the Cantonal Council approved the commitment loan of 125.77 million Swiss francs for the south Küssnacht bypass. In this commitment loan, an amount of CHF 3 million has been set for these two buildings.
