In the center of Bern, a man attacked five women on Friday afternoon. Before being stopped by the police, passers-by stopped him. Later, it became apparent that the man needed medical help.
As Christoph Gnägi, of the Bern Cantonal Police, had said on request, the police had received the message a little before noon that a man had been found dead in the Kleinen Sterns cafe. When a patrol came out, passersby stopped the man at the corner of Christoffel- / Schauplatzgasse, at Bahnhofplatz.
Spokesman Gnägi said that the man had received medical attention. There are investigations of the placement of the man in an appropriate institution going on.
A woman was taken to hospital by an ambulance for control, a second by a private person. The two women could have left the hospital. Gnägi confirmed with these statements the information of the online edition of "20 minutes".
