Veterinarians helped build the house
Twelve years ago, Janete Trüb (37) was looking for a suitable holiday home for her two cats. But she found nothing suitable. "It was at that moment that I thought I was tearing something up as I wanted it," says Trüb. Animal experts participated in the construction of the facility.
The success is overwhelming. "We have up to 14,000 nights a year," says Trüb. 80 percent are regulars. You can choose between suites, single rooms or common areas, and enjoy free access to the Amazon Room with its glass dome and its tropical ambience, where the cat's eye walks in the green countryside around Küsnacht. In the air, birdsong hangs from canned food.
56 guests on all fours spend the day in the house. They carry names like Anaya or Missy-Arielle and represent the who's who of the cat's eagle. Bengal, Abyssinian, Norwegian Wildcats. Most of the time they make themselves invisible, but use the stay to make discrete knowledge. Because unlike people who occupy every corner with towels in the hotel, cats only consider one area as their territory after four weeks. Special food for people with allergies
Two vets are present who, if necessary, see every day a hairy patient. The owners can skype with the animals, with the cat answering the voice. On request, dietary foods are served or special for people with allergies. If the owner wants it, the cat feeds on the bag, the chicken wing or something else. There is no scrunch, each guest has his own cup supported by a chip.
The director of the Trüb hotel keeps a file on each guest, where every detail is listed. Three trained zookeepers and the cat's mother are responsible, also to be pampered like brushing, caressing and playing. Janete Trüb knows every cat by name. "Hello Rocky," she says, "hoi Archibald," and they're already scratching her calf – in the cat's tongue, that's a friendly greeting. "I consider myself a cat," she says.
In addition to billionaires, celebrities and other rich people, the people of their guests are normal mortals who save money for their favorite luxury holidays from their mouths. At CHF 29.50 per night and the nose in shared accommodation is achievable. Especially from a kazi point of view, the mass storage of a Suite Del Mare (144 francs) is preferable. In the suite, cat furniture can be brought from the house. But most guests scrape soon after they arrive on the disc, want to hang out with the others and see what happens there.
If owners come back after the holidays to pick up their pets, they often hide first. You know: Now go to the transport box. The freedom of the holidays is over.
