Due to the persistent drought, groundwater levels are steadily decreasing and at the same time the demand for drinking water is increasing dramatically. The situation is extraordinary. The municipality of Steinhausen has therefore taken various measures, as communicated by the municipal council:

The wells of the Weihermattplatz, the Chäsi, the cemetery and the water plan of the community hall have been temporarily decommissioned . The fountain on the village square will also be put out of service after the federal celebration.

The irrigation of green spaces will be reduced to the essentials by the Werkdienst. In the trees, the droplet irrigation system was installed at various locations.

The community of Steinhausen asks the people to take care of drinking water until the end of the drought. (red)
