The strike in Tamedia in western Switzerland is suspended. Workers' representatives and business leaders have agreed on mediation. The conciliation procedure is conducted by the canton of Vaud

The two parties to the conflict have accepted the terms and conditions of the conciliation procedure, said Thursday the canton of Vaud. This includes a strike ban on workers during the procedure. The employer can not announce any further layoffs and it must suspend the layoffs that have occurred up to here.

The mediation will take place under the leadership of the president of the Vaud government Nuria Gorrite and the economic director Philippe Leuba. A first session is scheduled for next Monday. Negotiators agreed to treat the talks confidentially.
