The exceptional Joel Wicki triumphs over the Rigi

What Armon Orlik and Joel Wicki offered in this Rigi finish was a high-level swing. The Grisons, 23, and Entlebucher, 21, attacked as usual and paid nothing. Orlik, who needed a win to win, was the most active athlete of the two, until Wicki surpassed him with a run in the 8th minute and won the triumph.

Wicki continues his high-altitude flight successfully on the Rigi. A week ago, he won at Central Switzerland in Ruswil, before winning the cantons of Lucerne and Uri.

Daniel Bösch of St. Gallen was second. Erich Fankhauser, Wicki's teammate, finally finished in third place.

Joel Wicki remains impeccable: in fifth gear, he beats Roger Rychen and is rightly in the final heat. Already last year, he reached the final of the Rigi, but he lost to Sven Schurtenberger and was injured.

Daniel Bösch, Armon Orlik and Domenic Schneider and Andreas Ulrich were able to make a leap forward with their victories. They all have a total of 48.00. Due to the best sheet music, however, the Einteilungskampfgericht opted for Armon Orlik as a conclusion participants. Two Wicki teammates also have three victories at the moment: the two brothers Erich and Marco Fankhauser. Erich can defeat the Stefan Arnold Urner, Marco added to the Swiss Confederate Reto Nötzli the first defeat of the day.

In addition to the Entlebuch Trio, Andreas Ulrich is on the right track. The Gersauer, winner of Rigi 2015, beats Josef Portmann. Armon Orlik, Roger Rychen and Daniel Bösch, both from northeastern Switzerland, won a second victory.

Armon Orlik can record his first victory against Nidwaldner Martin Zimmermann. Daniel Bösch and Andi Imhof, who were in first, also won their first victories. The festival has not yet taken place as planned for the finalist of Stoos Marcel Bieri. He already has the second person on the score sheet.
