The People's Initiative "Swiss Law in Place of Foreign Judges (Self-Determination Initiative)" of the SVP was formally concluded in September 2016 with 116 '428 valid votes. It requires that the federal Constitution be above international law, subject to the imperative provisions of international law such as the prohibition of slavery and genocide. The initiative was rejected by the Federal Council and had no chance in parliament.

The initiative of the cow horn aims to reduce the number of dehorned animals. The constitution aims to provide financial support for horned cows, breeding bulls, goats and breeding goats. However, a ban on freeing animals does not provide for desire. Behind the Hornkuh initiative lies a community of interest around the mountain farmer Armin Capaul.

The third bill concerns the legal basis for the supervision of insured persons. By contrast, the referendum had been launched by a group of citizens around the author Sibylle Berg. In 62 days, more than 55,000 signatures had been collected

The Federal Chancellery has yet to confirm the result of the referendum. The referendum was supported, inter alia, by the SP, the Greens, the umbrella organization of employees of Travail.Suisse and by organizations for the disabled and the elderly.
