The office of the president of the school is in demand on the Zürichberg. As was the case four years ago, this time two votes were needed and the candidates fought for the electorate. Every Saturday, the green Ralf Margreiter and the non-partisan Roger Curchod stood in front of the neighborhood shops and sought conversation with mothers and fathers. The race was made Sunday by former wealth manager and banker Roger Curchod, who has been president of a parent council for the school in recent years.
Neighborhood residents are not surprised, because Curchod calls himself a liberal. The Liberal urban bastion was an advantage. Nevertheless, the choice of Curchod means a turnaround. Because for many decades the Liberals hold the school board, in the 90s was the president of the school, Ueli Keller, followed by Hanna Lienhard. More recently, Mirella Forster was in power, but she reinstated her post after four years of unfortunate administration.
Although the FDP's candidate, Béatrice Di Pizzo, was eliminated in the first round, Dominique Zygmont, president of the FDP, The bulletin does not speak of defeat. Although Curchod is without a party, but he shares the political values of his party, he says. Roger Curchod ends a liberal tradition on the Zürichberg. But even in the rest of the city, his choice is unique. Practically only SP and FDP
