Anyone who's ever been on a skateboard knows his name: Tony Hawk (50) is a living legend. This week, the king of the halfpipe also stopped in Switzerland

On Instagram, Hawk shares impressions of Zurich and Vals GR. And while he enjoyed the view in the canton of Graubünden, he did what he did best in the city of Limmat: skating. With the freestyle hall of Zurich, the Brunau skatepark and the halfpipe in Latvia, Hawk has visited almost all the hotspots of the scene

"For such a legend you stay open longer"

The visit of the Hawks remains special for Jannick Burri (31) memorable. Zurich could not only meet the superstar – but now also has an eleven-time world champion board.

"I knew from a friend that Tony was in Switzerland," Burri told LOOK. The skater based in Zurich has been skating for more than 20 years and now produces recycled material boards for his own El Burrito brand. "My colleague runs the Freestylehalle Zurich and Tony just arrived Monday night. In fact, my friend wanted to close the room, but for such a legend you stay open longer."

"He's just a guy cool "

Burri did not have to be jealous of his friend for a long time. When he visits the Brunau skatepark on Thursday, the sports legend suddenly stands in front of him: "A big problem." Hawk tried his sons on the ramps and ramps of the park, but mostly took time for his fans. "He was ready for selfies and discussions – you can tell right away that he's fallen, just a cool guy." Admirable, after all, Hawk is "an idol for all skaters."

The meeting saw Burri Hawk follow on Instagram. There, he also saw this morning that the skater hid a board on the ramp on the Latvian with the words "The Finder Can Keep". Since 31 years anyway works nearby, he is now in his apartment. And another coincidence completes the story: "My first painting was from Birdhouse, the Tony brand. The fact that I also owns an original plate of it closes the circle."
