Tennessee dunks on the Mississippi State, faces Kentucky

The No. 3 Volunteers of Tennessee beat Friday night 83-76 the Bulldogs of No. 6 Mississippi State in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament.

This of course means that the Vols will face Kentucky, No. 2, Saturday afternoon in the semifinals, which could be the SEC league match de facto. The Wildcats defeated Alabama earlier Friday.

Mississippi State fought Tennessee fiercely and made things interesting, but Flights were in control throughout the second half.

Tennessee was led by the 20 points of Admiral Schofield, who might have legitimately dunked the year. Schofield postulated a poor defender of the MSU.

Grant Williams scored 16 points for Tennessee, while Kyle Alexander also scored 16 points. Jordan Bowden added 10 points on the bench. Jordan Bone and Lamonte Turner combined 17 assists.

The Bulldogs had four double-digit players: Aric Holman (20), Lamar Peters (15), Quinndary Weatherspoon (17) and Reggie Perry (15).

Florida, number 8, surprised LSU No. 1 Friday on a seasoned drummer and number 5, Auburn, beat number 4, South Carolina. So, the Gators and Tigers will face each other in the other semifinal at 1:00 pm. AND.

Tennessee and Kentucky will be played after the end of the Florida-South Carolina match.
