What is Bullpen fighting? What questionable management is at stake? What initial rotation uncertainty? What offensive morass of short duration? The Braves posed all of these very, very questionable questions on Sunday night, breaking out early and often for a triumphant and definitive 11-11 victory over the Cleveland Indians. The evening began with two home runs from Josh Donaldson in the first two rounds of the game and ended only much later, as Max Fried showed a whole series of zeros and the rest of the group joined the party. .
It was supposed to be an intriguing pitcher's clash between two promising young arms, but Cleveland starter Shane Bieber did not keep that promise. The Braves attacked Bieber for seven points, which also reflects the number of Braves hitters that he could actually pull out. Donaldson tagged him for two circuits – the first came on a knee slider that was pushed to the center right; the second was a very fast high-pitched ball that Donaldson carved a seemingly trillion feet in the Cleveland night.
