The Last Man on FX Stars Diane Lane as President

Y: The last man has been on the hunt for an adaptation since the comic book began in 2002. So much has happened since the book ended in 2008, which makes a movie or movie version even more tempting. After writing the series, Brian K. Vaughn continued to work on Lost and act as a showrunner for Under the dome. Another of his books, Runaways, has had a TV adaptation that comes and goes. Shia LeBeouf was a favorite to star in a movie version. Then he lost Disturbance director DJ Caruso, which meant LaBeouf was absent. Dan Trachtenberg was attached to the project, back when all he had to his name was a Portal fan movie. Now he is attached to the Unexplored movie and a Predator suite, and Y: The last man is a prestigious television show. Just think that premium television wasn’t much of a concern when this saga began 15 years ago. The world plagues either!

Y: The last man tells the story of Yorrick, the last titular man. Something killed every male mammal on earth except Yorrick and his Ampersand monkey. In the FX on Hulu series, he will be played by Ben Schnetzer. Diana Lane leads a grieving America as president, Ashley Romans plays Agent 335, and Olivia Thirlby is Hero Brown. Y: The last man arrives on FX on Hulu on September 13.
