The measles outbreak reaches 214 cases in New York

The worst measles outbreak in New York in decades continues to grow in the Orthodox Jewish community, where some families have resisted the vaccination of their children, health officials said.

Thirty-three cases were confirmed last week, bringing the total number to 214 measles cases since October, a spokesman for the New York City Department of Hygiene and Mental Health said Thursday.
