House prosecutors brought the single indictment of “incitement to insurgency”, making the ceremonial march through the Capitol to the Senate. But Trump’s Republican denunciations have cooled since the January 6 riot. Republican senators are balancing the demands of deep-pocketed donors who distance themselves from Trump and voters who demand loyalty.

Speculation about Trump’s post-presidency ranges from the fact that he may have started his media company running for a second term in 2024.
