Elizabeth Romano makes a comeback in recent game at USC tennis complex in Wells

United South Central women’s tennis team scored a big win on Tuesday, September 28, beating Tri-City United / Cleveland 4-3.

The Rebel Girls scored two singles wins and two more doubles wins to secure the narrow victory.

Maya Zebro took the victory for USC in third in singles, beating Savannah Squires, 6-1, 6-3. And, at No. 4 in the singles, Brylee Neubauer beat her opponent, Molly Closser, by a score of 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles, it was the rebellious duo of Elizabeth Romano and Addison Mithun playing in doubles No. 2, who beat Cynthia Balcazar-Mendez and Kacie Traxler, by scores of 6-2, 6-0.

And, at No.3 in doubles, Olivia Bungum and Maya Hansen were the winners over Ava Flintrop and Anne cooper, 6-2, 6-2.

It was a three-set battle in the No.1 singles, where Kelsie Chapman of the Rebels lost 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to Monserrat Ruiz. At No. 2 in singles, Lauren Hansen lost 6-3, 7-6 to Morgan Mueller.

The No. 1 USC doubles team of Macy Zebro and Brooklyn Yokiel lost 6-3, 7-5, to Mackenzie Holmbo and Emma Treanor.

The next stop for the Rebels was a game scheduled for Thursday, September 30, against Sibley East, which was rescheduled from September 2. Then the Rebels faced Belle Plaine on Saturday October 2, which was rescheduled from September 20.
