RICHMOND, Virginia – As of November 25, Virginia was now reporting 226,300 cases of the coronavirus in the Commonwealth since March.

48 new cases in Montgomery County

47 new cases in Chesapeake

46 new cases in Lee County

45 new cases in the cities of Roanoke and Richmond and Franklin County

44 new cases in Hanover County

37 new cases in Hampton

36 new cases in Stafford County

34 new cases in Norfolk and Frederick County

33 new cases in Lynchburg

31 new cases in Pittsylvania County

30 new cases in Henry and Danville County

28 new cases in Roanoke County

27 new cases in Pulaski County

26 new cases in Newport News and Smyth County

4 new cases in Waynesboro, Fauquier County, Goochland County, Caroline County, Galax, Appomattox County, Dinwiddie County, Falls Church, Amelia County, Hopewell and Gloucester County

3 new cases in Rockingham County, Orange County, Buckingham County, Lunenburg County, Cumberland County and Essex County

2 new cases in County of Bland, County of Warren, Colonial Heights, County of Charlotte, County of Mecklenburg, County of King George, Norton, County of Halifax, County of Clarke, County of Craig, Poquoson, Russell County, Lancaster County and Brunswick County

A new case in Southampton County, Page County, Fluvanna County, King William County, Surry County, Williamsburg, Sussex County, Rappahannock County, Madison County and County of Middlesex

Westmoreland County saw one less case.

Wednesday, 226300 cases marks an increase from Tuesday’s total of 223,582 cases.

The Virginia Department of Health reported on Wednesday that there were 3,663,682 total test encounters.

The term “test encounters” includes people who have been tested more than once because of their occupation, high risk status, or the need for a negative result to return to work. The Department of Health started using this metric on May 1. To learn more, click here.
