The Biden administration offered a rare condemnation from the Washington Post as well as the New York Times for tweets that promote the spread of the coronavirus among vaccinated Americans.

Ben Wakana, deputy director of strategic communications and engagement at the White House who is also part of the COVID-19 rapid response team, has been very active on Twitter to respond to viral tweets posted by two of the biggest newspapers from the country.

The Washington Post highlighted a CDC study that focused on a “massive” epidemic in Massachusetts among those vaccinated.

“People vaccinated made up three-quarters of those infected in a massive outbreak of covid-19 in Massachusetts, according to a CDC pivotal study,” the Post tweet read.

“Completely irresponsible,” reacted Wakana. “3 days ago, the CDC made it clear that those vaccinated represent a VERY SMALL amount of transmission occurring nationwide. Virtually all hospitalizations and deaths continue to occur among the unvaccinated. unreal not to put that in context. “

A Washington Post spokeswoman told Fox News she was “reviewing” the situation.

Wakana then responded to a tweet published by the New York Times: “Latest news: The Delta variant is as contagious as chickenpox and can be spread by vaccinated people as easily as unvaccinated people, according to an internal CDC report. “

“VACCINATED PEOPLE DO NOT TRANSMIT THE VIRUS AT THE SAME RATE AS UNVACCINATED PEOPLE AND IF YOU DON’T INCLUDE THIS CONTEXT, YOU DO,” the White House official wrote in all capitals.

The Times did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Wakana later tweeted, “Let’s be clear. If 10 vaccinated people walk into a room full of COVID, about 9 of them will leave the room WITHOUT COVID. Nine of them.”

The Washington Post and The New York Times are viewed by media critics as extremely Democratic-friendly with coverage that largely aligns with the Biden administration.

This is the harshest rebuke the White House has made to Post and Times reporting since President Biden took office.
