A 1,600-pound white shark has been spotted swimming in the Gulf of Mexico and heading north, according to OCEARCH, an organization focused on collecting data from the ocean.

The shark, named Miss Costa, was recently found off the coast of Florida Panhandle, south of Panama City, OCEARCH reported. Scientists think that it could be between 14 and 15 years long, according to the measures taken in 2016.

Research shows that white sharks visit the Gulf of Mexico, but there is little information about their activities in these waters, OCEARCH said.
