Todd Mitchem said a bear was snooping around the porch of his Evergreen home around 3:16 a.m. MDT, KDVR reported.

“So… uh… I mean… hello, my friend,” Mitchem wrote in a Facebook post.

The doorbell camera shows the bear approaching the front door, sniffing, and finally leaving.

With the first possible frost in Colorado next week, bears roam the area trying to find food before the hibernation season.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials say bears have entered overeating – the process by which bears eat and drink almost non-stop as they hibernate fattening – and now consume around 20,000 calories per day, KDVR reported.

While the images were in black and white, Mitchem told people who replied to his Facebook post that he thought the bear was brown. One thing everyone agreed on: the bear was huge.
