Clouds spoil the Delhi date with the blood moon. Emotions rise high on Twitter

There was disappointment coupled with helplessness when people were unable to see the moon of blood.

New Delhi:

The longest lunar eclipse of the century excited everyone in Delhi last night. Many had prepared their binoculars and cameras, set their alarms at 1 am and were ready to attend the "Blood Moon", a total lunar eclipse when the moon gives a reddish hue. Detailed preparations have been made at the Nehru Planetarium to allow sky observers to take advantage of this rare celestial event. The cloudy sky, however, played a spoilsport and Delhi missed its rendezvous with the "blushing moon". Twitter users, who initially posted messages like "excited", "can not wait", were quickly disappointed because a cloudy sky ruined their plans to see the "red moon".

Users expressed regret on Twitter with messages, "No moon, only clouds", "Me and my brother went out with DSLR to take pictures of lunar eclipse but not visible in Delhi" and "The largest lunar eclipse of our life and we miss it because of the cloud cover! "
