Facebook closes Hello, Moves and tbh apps due to low usage

Facebook has dropped the curtains on a handful of apps, including Moves, Hello, and tbh, as they have failed to flourish. The company will remove user data from these three applications within 90 days, which will allow it to prioritize its resources, reports The Verge.

Moves is a fitness tracking app that Facebook acquired in 2014 while Hello is an Android dialer. The application tbh was an app for teens that the company acquired just eight months ago.

Recently, Facebook said that it was informing more than 800,000 users that a software bug had temporarily unlocked people on the social network and on its Messenger service. The glitch active between May 29 and June 5 has been corrected, according to Facebook, which is striving to regain confidence in the aftermath of a scandal over the confidentiality of Cambridge Analytica's data.

"We know that the ability to block someone is important." Erin Egan, head of Facebook's privacy protection, said yesterday in a blog post. "We would like to apologize and explain what happened." Blocking someone on Facebook prevents them from seeing messages in a blocker's profile; log in as a friend or start Messenger conversations.
