Huawei confirms the name of the flagship "Mate 20" through the intermediary of a brand

The Huawei Mate 20 denomination for the company's next flagship has just been confirmed by a new trademark filing. Huawei has filed a number of brands throughout the European Union, confirming that the Mate 20 name is a success, as the company jumped from the Huawei P10 to the Huawei P20 series earlier this year. Huawei had introduced several Mate 10 devices last year, and it will skip the Mate 11 denomination, in order to move directly to the Mate 20 series.

Interestingly, Huawei has not registered the Mate brand 20, the company also filed Mate 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 brands, suggesting that the company's flagship Mate for 2019 will be called the Mate 30, and so on. This also suggests that the next flagship P of the company will be named the Huawei P30, instead of P21, in case some of you were wondering. The Huawei Mate 20 is expected to arrive in October, and it will be powered by the next-generation Kirin flagship processor, which the company has not yet announced. This processor will probably call the Kirin 980, which was spotted a while ago in an AnTuTu test, and the company will certainly announce it in the coming weeks. Regarding the design and specifications of the phone, we can only guess at this point because we have not seen any solid leakage of Mate 20 up here, while only a few rumors related to the specification appeared.

It is possible that the Mate 20 will look like the Huawei P20 series, which means that it can be worn with a notch display and very thin goggles. The Huawei Mate 20 will probably be larger than the two P20 cameras, mainly because of a larger display that should be included. The phone will contain at least 6GB of RAM on the inside, while you can expect to see Android 8.1 Oreo come pre-installed on the device, with Huawei's Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.1 skin. The Kirin 980 SoC has managed to score 356,918 in an AnTuTu leak test, which is mind-boggling, but it remains to be seen how legitimate this test was.
