Update WhatsApp – Have you ever spotted this important new feature?

In an effort to combat misinformation on WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned company has introduced a new feature for forwarded messages.

Any forwarded message will now be tagged with "Forwarded" at the top.

The idea is to clarify when the words in a message box are not those of the sender.

Apparently, the label will not only be able to apply text but also images, videos and audio messages.

WhatsApp said, "This additional context will help facilitate individual and group conversations.

"It also helps you determine if your friend or parent has written the message that he sent or he's done at the origin.

The update follows a series of links between the messaging platform and the spread of dangerous virus rumors in India and Brazil.

The application will then highlight the link in red if it considers it a potential threat.

The user can still decide to open the link, but the app alerts the person one more time to make sure they want to continue to the link address .

WhatsApp also offers security in the form of a two-step verification for those who want to feel even safer using the application to share private information.
