Governor DeSantis holds press conference with Florida Attorney General in Orlando

ORLANDO, Florida. –Governor Ron DeSantis will hold a press conference Thursday morning in Orlando with Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.

The press conference will take place at the Attorney General’s office. It’s scheduled to start at 10 a.m., and ClickOrlando.com will be streaming it live at the top of this story.

Moody will announce millions of dollars in payback for domestic violence services in the state, according to a press release from his office.

It’s unclear whether DeSantis will address the ongoing lawsuit over its school mask policy.

The governor said on Wednesday “there will be consequences” for school districts that have adopted mask mandates despite its executive order, which states that parents should be able to decide whether their children wear masks in school.

“These school districts violate state law and they are overriding the judgment of parents on this matter,” DeSantis said. “If these entities are going to violate state law and parental rights to take away, obviously the way it works, there are consequences for that and there will always be more.”

Closing arguments for the lawsuit challenging the decree to prevent local school boards from imposing mask warrants on students are also set for Thursday.
