Honda Everus VE-1 launched in China

Honda, in collaboration with its Chinese partner Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC), has launched a new all-electric crossover at the Guangzhou auto show, the Everus VE-1. China's exclusive model was introduced for the first time by the Everus EV concept several months earlier and is similar in size to the famous HR-V.

In terms of styling, the VE-1 is distinguished from the HR-V by its remodeled front fairing including vertical LED daytime running lights that flank a trapezoidal bottom socket. The chrome bar between the headlights has now disappeared and the section of the grille is practically peculiar, with the exception of the cover located above the charging port.

Beyond that, the rest of the EV is almost identical to the vehicle on which it stands, including the rear and interior design. Focusing on this last point, you'll notice a knob speed selector instead of a conventional lever, as well as a new dashboard reflecting the zero-emission powertrain.

On this mention, the VE-1 is motivated by an electric motor of 161 hp (120 kW) and 280 Nm of torque. The engine is associated with a single gearbox driving the front wheels, which allows the EV to accelerate from 0 to 50 km / h in five seconds at a maximum speed of 140 km / h.

A 53.6 kWh battery powers the engine and offers a range of up to 340 km with a single charge and 430 km at a constant speed of 60 km / h. The VE-1 connects to a charger via a Type 2 connector, but detailed charging information is not provided. According to what we can collect on the official website of the product, the "standard charge time" is nine hours, or 55 minutes in case of fast charge.

In terms of equipment, the VE-1 is equipped with 17-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a panoramic sunroof, a keyless entry and start system, automatic climate control single-zone, leather upholstery and an eight-inch multimedia touch-screen information system. You will also have three driving modes: Normal, Sport and Battery Saver.

The price of the VE-1 is 170,800 yuan (103,015 RM) but this includes the incentives; without them, the EV sells for 225,800 yuan (RMB 136,186). For comparison, the normal HR-V (known as Vezel) starts from 128,800 yuan (77,683 RMB). Interested?
