Guns N 'Roses' singer, Axl Rose, said Queen was the biggest band of all time and Freddie Mercury, the best singer of all time.
The singer was speaking to Atlas Etihad before the group's show in the UAE this weekend, where they closed the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
When asked who, in his opinion, deserved the praise of the greatest singer of all time, Rose replied, "For me, it's easy. Queen is the best band and Freddie Mercury is the best frontman of all time.
"The band is the best because it has embraced so many different styles."
Rose also indicated that he would like to work on a film soundtrack in the future.
He says, "Listening to movie soundtracks is a very important thing for me. When you listen to things like Pirates of the Caribbean and you get that mix of orchestra and modern instrumentation – it's very smart.
"I have a lot of respect for the guys who do that. This is something I would like to do at some point in the future.
Guns N 'Roses performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium in London in April 1992. Rose joined Queen and Elton John to perform Bohemian Rhapsody and later, teamed up with the queen for we will Rock You.
The Guns N 'Roses had to cut their game in Abu Dhabi after Axl fought for illness. He told the crowd that he had to have "a series of injections" and that he had been sick for hours before the show.
They managed to play for almost two hours, but called the show after playing November Rain.
The group's next live performance is scheduled for November 29, when they play at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. Subsequently, GNR will compete at the Aloha Stadium Rally in Honolulu on December 8th.
