Gobind Singh Deo advises social network users to keep their emotions under control when they comment on troubles related to the relocation of the temple.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is gathering evidence to act against the circulation of false information that would stir up the sensitivity of disturbances near a Hindu temple to Selangor.

The Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo, warned against harsh action against people circulating on social media reporting unrest near the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple of USJ 25, Subang Jaya, early Monday and yesterday.

"The information will be provided to me soon so that I can study it in detail," he told the press during the Parliament's lobbying.

Gobind advised social network users to keep their emotions under control when they commented on disturbances related to the relocation of the temple.

He added that every citizen has a role to play in ensuring that the problem is dealt with in the best possible way and that they should be cautious when sharing comments on social networks, in order avoid causing undesirable problems.

Yesterday Monday and yesterday, in the unrest, a crowd attacked worshipers, police and firefighters. As a result, 23 cars and motorcycles were burned. The developer's office, One City, was also vandalized. One of the firefighters was injured and hospitalized.

Finas Board of Directors

Gobind has announced that it will announce this week, at the latest, the appointment of members of the new board of directors of the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).

"I was informed that a meeting was held last Monday and that the members of the new board of directors had been appointed.

"I was also informed that a new advisory body had also been appointed.

"I will meet the new officials soon and make an announcement this week, including the appointment of the Director General and Deputy Director General," he said.
