The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will leave their home in Kensington Palace and move 32 km from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. Since the news was confirmed by the palace earlier this week, rumors have emerged that the decision would have been made because of tensions between the royal power couples.
Did Prince William and Kate Middleton welcome Meghan into the family?
A royal source told Vanity Fair that Meghan and Kate were doing their utmost to listen, despite the fact that they were "very different people".
The tension would be between the Prince William brothers and Prince Harry.
The source said, "Kate and Meghan are very different people and do not have much in common but they have made efforts to get along.
"All the problems are between the brothers."
However, rumor has it that the tension between the royal brothers is due to the fact that Prince Harry does not think Prince William has done enough to welcome Meghan into the family.
The fallout would have started last Christmas.
The source explained, "Harry felt that William was not rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him.
"They quarreled, which was solved only when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort.
"That's when the Cambridges invited the Sussex to spend Christmas with them."
Before Prince Harry's engagement with Meghan, he often associated with royal events with his older brother and sister-in-law.
But after joining Meghan in May, the Duke of Sussex became less dependent on the future king and queen.
The source continued: "Two years ago, the idea of leaving Harry Kensington Palace was unthinkable, but many things have changed.
"He wants to be his own person, not in William's shadow.
"The campaign works for him and Meghan because they want to raise their son or daughter away from the spotlight."
Kensington Palace did not make any statement amid rumors, but said the Sussex would move to Windsor because it is a "very special place for their Royal Highnesses".
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex retain their offices at Kensington Palace.
