Gary Lineker blamed Jose Mourinho for showing his disgust to Marcus Rashford for missing a shot in Manchester United's 1-0 win over the Young Boys in the Champions League.
Marouane Fellaini's time winner spared United's rash and sent them to the last 16 of the competitionnot.
Until then, it had been a painful night for United, who came within seconds of three European home games without scoring for the first time.
England striker Rashford missed a great opportunity in the fifth minute by deflecting on the crossbar Young Boys.
Mourinho showed his disapproval on the sidelines by turning to his staff in the back shop and shaking his head.
Lineker was not impressed by the reaction of the Portuguese and said at the BT Sport 2: "As a center forward, if I saw my manager react like that, I would be absolutely livid."
He then tweeted, "Turn to the crowd and to your own bench and shake your head in disgust against one of your own players, not to mention a youngster. You do not do that as a coach. "
The boys in group H had only one point in four games, but the visitors to Switzerland may have been denied a famous victory by the superb victory of David De Gea (0-0).
Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, said about his former club: "I found them terrible, terrible, especially in the second period.
"If they play against a half-decent team, they are beaten.
"It reminded me a lot of the Sevilla match last year. They blew and blew and the quality was really lacking in all areas of the field.
"I'm sorry for the Young Boys, they have been excellent in the second half and they have a bit of quality about them, they win this game."
But Mourinho responds to Scholes, say experts like him and Gary Neville, have little understanding of the pressures he faces.
