SUBANG JAYA: All places of worship must be worshiped, regardless of religion, says Datuk Seri Dr. Mujahid Yusof Rawa (peak).
The Minister (Islamic Affairs) of the Prime Minister's Department said: "Even though I oversee the well-being of Islam, I also consider myself responsible for upholding the principles of Islam. one of these principles is that all houses of worship must be respected.
"It does not matter that it's a mosque, a temple or a church, they are holy places for the faithful," he said. after visiting Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple on Wednesday, November 28th.
He added that Muslims respected freedom of religion (for non-Muslims) and were also responsible for the respect of their holy places.
"The recent incident is contrary to this principle.
"I came here to say that these actions did not represent any race, but it is a small group of individuals who do not understand this principle and who has violated and created a precarious situation", he declares.
He added that he had met with the temple committee and heard about many unpleasant things that night.
He added that threatening the safety and lives of people who prayed in their places of worship was contrary to the teachings of Islam.
"I hope that there will be no repetition of this incident in any place of worship.
"Those responsible must be brought to justice in accordance with the laws in force," he said.
He also said that Pakatan Harapan will ensure that such an incident does not happen again.
