Shankar and AR Rahman, whenever these two genies meet, they create magic. I do not speak specifically about the "soundtrack" but about the general music and the background score of the films, which is usually epic. The problem however is in the soundtrack department. For example, the music of 2.0 prequel, Robot, was catchy and worked in his regional language. But when the same songs were dubbed in Hindi, the lyrics were laughable to say the least. While the music was always catchy, the lyrics just did not fit.

To be honest, I do not have much hope in the music album of 2.0. First, the film is not about the songs, secondly, the manufacturers have not focused much on the songs, especially in the Hindi version. The soundtrack of 2.0 consists of 3 songs. The music is composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman, the lyrics are written by Abbas Tyrewala. The songs are sung by Armaan Malik, Shashaa Tirupati, Kailash Kher, Aziz Nakash, Blaaze, AR Ameen and Suzanne D & # 39; Mello.

Let's see the three songs of version 2.0 below:

Tu Hi Re aka Mechanical Sundariye

Sung by Armaan Malik and Shaasha Tirupati, the song is about romance between two robots. Although the music is catchy, that singing is good and that the song is more or less melodious, the lyrics play a mess. forgettable

Rakshassi

It sounds like a song of good against evil .. Sung by Kailash Kher, Nakash Aziz and Blaaze, the choirs are presented by Arjun Chandy. Again, just like Tu Hi Re, AR Rahman's music has been catchy and catchy, but the lyrics are even more bizarre than those of Tu Hi Re. The music will stay with and after what I saw in the trailers, this could also be heard in the movie's background score.

Nanhi Si Jaan

It's a slow song and some kind of love song about birds. Sung by Kailash Kher, AR Ameen and Suzanne D & # 39; Mello, Nanhi Si Jaan lacks beats and it works. It's a complete different from the previous two songs of the movie. And the song goes well until the voice of Suzanne D & Mello takes center stage and the same problem arises: words and music do not melt. However, the lyrics of this one are better.

Verdict

Overall, the music of version 2.0 is catchy, but the lyrics are strange, which makes the soundtrack disappointing. (You can check out the complete soundtrack of the 2.0 here).

Our choice:

No. Perhaps Rakshassi for his music and Nanhi Si Jaan for the idea of a hymn to birds.
