The general director of the Fire and Rescue Department, Datuk Mohamad Hamdan Wahid, said that the video man was actually a colleague of Muhammad Adib.
He added that Mohd Hazim bin Mohd Rahimi, 31, originally climbed into the fire truck in front of the emergency vehicle Muhammad Adib was in.
Mohamad Hamdan commented on the temple committee's allegation that Muhammad Adib was hit by a fire truck in reverse while responding to the fire at the scene.
Muhammad Adib is currently being treated at the National Institute of Cardiology (NIJ).
The temple committee claimed that the incident had been captured in the viral video.
Mohamad Hamdan said the department will file a police report against the charges.
He said this at a press conference at the IJN on Wednesday (November 28). Mohd Hazim was also present.
Speaking of the incident, Mohd Hazim confirmed that the person in the video was him, adding that he had been filmed down the fire truck to access the reel.
He said when he saw the crowd, he jumped into the emergency vehicle to ensure his safety.
"It was a very chaotic and confusing moment," he said, adding that rioters had rushed towards them with the intention of attacking him.
