KUALA LUMPUR: Seeking to stand out from the country's other real estate developers, Mah Sing Group Bhd is partnering with the Lazada Malaysia e-commerce platform to offer homes online.
In a joint statement, the partners said the next sale of Lazada 12.12 Grand Year End would be the first time that properties would be sold on an e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia.
Ho Hon Sang, chairman and CEO of the Mah Sing Group, said the developer was looking to be as innovative as possible in its business and reinvent the way consumers buy their homes.
"More than half of the Malaysian population shops online, being the first developer to sell units online on an ecommerce platform such as Lazada gives us a competitive advantage over other developers in Malaysia, "he said.
Christophe Lejeune, President and CEO of Lazada Malaysia, said Lazada was excited about being the region's first e-commerce platform to sell properties.
"After the huge response we received at the 11.11 Lazada Shopping Festival, we are stepping up our efforts to anticipate the changing demands of a mobile consumer that is constantly evolving and becoming increasingly fearless.
"Malaysian buyers are looking for more digital solutions for all their lifestyle needs, and we believe this collaboration will make affordable homes more accessible to young buyers," he added.
The Mah Sing projects that will feature on Lazada at the sale on 12.12 include M Vertica, Cheras; Mr. Centura, Sentul; Sensa [email protected] City, KL South; M Aruna, Rawang; M Vista, Penang; and Meridin East, Johor.
Interested buyers can preview homes from November 28 and add to cart and buy from December 10-12.
Buyers of Mah Sing homes who buy their home on Lazada will receive an exclusive 5% Lazada incentive valued between RMB 20,000 and RMB 30,000, the largest online incentive ever offered on Lazada.
The developer said that he was convinced that this would attract many digital enthusiast customers.
Lazada Group is majority-owned by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.
