The German automaker celebrated the world premiere of its new 911 on the eve of the Los Angeles Auto Show.

This is the eighth generation version of this iconic Porsche model, which is already available to order.

It's not surprising that the 2019 version of the recently unveiled 911 is faster and more powerful than ever.

It is equipped with a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and six-cylinder flatbed turbocharged engines of last generation, offering power up to 450 horsepower in S models (a gain of 30 horses).

The most powerful model, the Porsche 911 4S, has a top speed of 308 km / h and a speed of 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.6 seconds (3.7 seconds for the Coupé).

You can gain an additional 0.2 seconds with the optional "Sport Chrono" package.

As part of a world first, Porsche has developed the "wet mode", included in series in the new 911.

This feature detects water on the road, can lead to slippery driving conditions, and optimizes vehicle safety by selecting the most appropriate driving mode.

The new Porsche 911 is also equipped as standard with an anti-collision assistance and brake assistance system.

A night vision assist function using a thermal camera is also available as an option for the 911 for the first time.

There are relatively few changes to the exterior design – although the 911 is getting new LED lights – but the interior has been seriously reworked, with a new 10.9-inch touchscreen.

Underneath is a compact five-button switching unit for direct access to important vehicle functions.

The new Porsche 911 is available on order in the Carrera S and Carrera 4S models.
