KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Rizal Mansor, Datuk Seri's former special envoy Najib Tun Razak, who faces four corruption charges related to a solar hybrid project, will request the referral of his case before the High Court.

Rizal's lawyer, Ridha Abdah Subri, told the Court of Sessions on Thursday, November 29, that the defense would need 10 days to file a notice of motion and sworn affidavits in this case.

PDP Ahmad Akram Gharib, of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, told the court that the prosecution would request that the case be judged with the case of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, which also involved the project of solar hybrid systems, once the transfer is allowed. .

Judge Rozina Ayob of the Court of Sessions fixed on 12 December for a new mention of the status of the transfer.

On November 15, Rizal declared four corruption cases in the Court of Sessions.

The former assistant to the wife of the former prime minister is reported to have claimed RM 200.5 million and bribed RM 5.5 million on behalf of Rosmah and himself. to assist Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd in obtaining the project to supply diesel, repair generators and hybrid systems to 369 rural schools in Sarawak.

The first two charges related to Saiva Abang Samsudin, managing director of Jepak Holdings, on behalf of Rosmah and RM25mil for himself, with the aim of ensuring that the company was receiving the project.

The third and fourth charges related to bribery, receiving Rs 5 million in the name of Rosmah and RM 500,000 for himself.

Rizal reportedly received Saidi's money between March and December 2016.

Rizal is on bail.
