JOHOR BARU: Sultan Ibrahim Ibrahim Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar reminded his Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board of Directors of Johor Corporation (JCorp) to do his job well.

Sultan Ibrahim said that if they did not do so, they could be replaced, adding that his duty was to ensure that the state investment branch performs well and is on the right track. way.

The Sultan emphasized that he had the power to appoint the CEO and the Board of Directors under the law of Johor Corporation 4, 1968.

"However, that does not mean that I interfere in the administration and my presence aims to ensure control and counterbalance," he said in his royal speech delivered at the meeting. on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of JCorp.

Sultan Ibrahim said that although Johor Mentri Besar was appointed president of JCorp, the appointment of the director general should be free of political power.

"This is to ensure that the CEO does not blindly follow the orders of the president," he added.

Sultan Ibrahim said some of the government-related companies at the federal level had appointed their CEOs with political support, and ended up neglecting their functions.

On another topic, Sultan Ibrahim advised JCorp to be more cautious in its investments and projects to avoid any failure or loss.

He said that he should focus on the purpose of its establishment, which was to help the state economy and Bangsa Johor.

"Learn from your past mistakes and be careful not to repeat them," added Sultan Ibrahim.

He also hoped that JCorp would assist the state government in providing affordable housing as part of its Rumah Impian Bangsa Johor housing program.

Sultan Ibrahim said the program should be extended to other districts of the state in order to give the opportunity to first eligible Johor home buyers to become homeowners.
