Filipino citizens rewarded by ETH

Citizens of Manila in the Philippines will soon be rewarded with ETH through a decentralized application based on the Ethereum network. The reward is the cleaning of the highly polluted beach of the country's capital.

The co-creator Ethereum and the CEO of the largest blockchain software development company, ConsenSys, Joseph Lubin has expressed on the subject and said:

"In Manila, participants will be paid in ETH for spending a few hours cleaning one of the most polluted beaches in the world. Bounties Network and ConsenSys Impact are a new model in which people fund causes directly without intermediaries. "

The viable application of blockchain technology has been seen by the decentralized Bounty application. This is due to the fact that participants are clearly rewarded by using the public ledger of a blockchain network.

The bonus network allows anyone on the platform to create rewards and reward participants with ETH by supporting various causes and initiatives. In recent weeks, a ConsenSys subsidiary, ConsenSys Impact, has created a non-profit organization nicknamed "Ocean Primes: Philippines Pilo – Sustainable and Verifiable Sanitation of Plastics" to boost the use of blockchain technology in the country.

The initiative comes at a convenient time as the country has reopened a popular tourist destination called Boracay. Boracay is known for its crystal-clear seawater and incredible dive sites, as well as the beaches it is home to. All this after the heavy pollution whose destination has suffered.

The country is considered the best place to launch a blockchain-based non-profit initiative since the country has already adopted cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin as a legitimate form of payment and that the central bank has formally reviewed Bitcoin as a method of payment.
