KUALA LUMPUR, November 29 – The 80,000 tickets for the 2018 Suzuki Cup semi-finals between Malaysia and Thailand on December 1 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium were sold.

According to the Malaysian Football Association (FAM), tickets sold at the National Stadium ticket booth, which opened at 10 am, were sold in less than three hours.

He added that tickets sold in some branches such as Al-Ikhsan Sports and Football Republic were also gone.

The total also includes 40,000 tickets posted online earlier.

The FAM via its Facebook page thanked the Malaysians for their support and hoped that the complete stage would give a positive result for Harimau Malaya.

Malaysia will face Thailand at home in the first leg of the semi-final and will need a good cushion before heading to Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on December 5th.

The Harimau Malimois lost 4-3 overall against the War Elephants in the 2014 semi-final, which they won. They retained the title of champion at the 2016 edition.

Bernama's checks at the National Stadium revealed that people started lining up at 7am.

Shukur Ridhwan, who came from Johor until the end, said he was satisfied with the process of buying tickets, which he described as being orderly and efficient.

"I took a day off today to buy tickets and I hope that the national team will be able to defeat Thailand and qualify for the final," said the senior player 20 years old, left Johor Baru at 5 o'clock in the morning.

Athirah Anuar, 29, said she arrived early to get her hands on the tickets and was confident that the national team would be ready to play this weekend.
