The wedding dress of Priyanka Chopra was designed by Ralph Lauren and the reason why is so romantic

As far as weddings are concerned, there is something to be thrilled about. What kind of cocktails will be served in Mason jars, what kind of flowers will decorate the tables and what will the dessert table contain? But the number one question people ask is what the bride is going to wear and Priyanka Chopra's wedding dress will not disappoint you. It has just been announced in an interview with Vogue that Ralph Lauren will create Chopra's wedding dress, and there is a beautiful story involved behind why the iconic designer was selected. Chopra is the cover of VogueThe January issue of, and so details about her upcoming wedding were addressed – including to whom she entrusted to create her memorable wedding dress.

While Lauren designs everything from ready-to-wear collections to handbags, "the maker of wedding dresses" is not part of her resume. Lauren has made only three wedding dresses during her career: one for her daughter, one for her daughter-in-law and one for her niece. Which means that her wedding dresses were until now a gift of love and a family affair. But he went personally to Chopra with sketches, wanting to be part of that memorable day.

But Lauren's involvement in the couple's story does not begin with this wedding dress. In fact, he invited Chopra and Nick Jonas to the 2017 Met Gala together, not knowing that they were already engaged in a long textual flirtation.

Both men accepted Lauren's offer. They walked together on the red carpet as Lauren's guests, dressed in custom outfits crafted by the designer and tackling together their first public appearance. (They decided to meet for the first time a week before the gala, having a drink at the Carlyle Hotel in New York.)

The Ralph Lauren wedding dress will not be the only change of dress during the wedding celebration of Chopra and Jonah, which will take place in Jodhpur, India. She mentioned that she would probably have several dresses (and hinted in the Vogue interview that more than one could be designed by Lauren himself), while Jonas will dress in a traditional way, wearing a turban, a sword and will ride horses. They will have both an Indian wedding and a Christian wedding, which will give him many opportunities to change dress.

Although no sketch has yet been released, Chopra left guessing what her dress might look like in October, giving fans clues as to what to expect. While talking with ET at the Golden Heart Awards earlier last month, she mentioned that she had two specific criteria.

"I always believe that everything I wear, I have to be comfortable and cute," explained Chopra. "So, it's going to be cute and comfortable."

For the Indian wedding ceremony of Chopra, it is expected that she will wear Indian designers, accustomed to Bollywood stars, such as Sabyasachi and Khosla Jani. But nothing has been confirmed yet for all his other dress options. Whatever she chooses, it will be a beautiful wedding for a beautiful bride.
