Cayman Airways, the Cayman Islands airline, has received its first Boeing 737 MAX 8, registered as VP-CIW. The airline becomes the first operator of the 737 MAX 8 in the Caribbean.
Until 2020, the airline will take delivery of three additional Boeing 737 MAX 8s to replace its fleet of 737 Classics. Compared to the 737-300, the MAX 8 offers a 30% higher seating capacity and an energy efficiency improvement of over 30% per seat.

Beginning in March 2019, Cayman Airways will operate non-stop seasonal flights to Denver twice a week. The new route will be operated by the all-new 737 MAX aircraft. Cayman Airways already serves other American cities, such as Miami, Tampa or New York.
Two Saab 340 and DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft are also part of the Cayman Airways fleet for flights between Grand Cayman and the sister islands of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.
