Kang Sung Hoon announced his decision to leave SECHSKIES and YG Entertainment.

This decision comes after the controversy sparked in 2018 over the cancellation of the meeting of Taiwanese fans canceled by Kang Sung Hoon and management problems of his fan club. He was also involved in an intrusion case involving his former manager and did not participate in the SECHSKIES concert in October. In November, Kang Sung Hoon explained the situation on his personal Instagram account. That same month, SECHSKIES fans filed a lawsuit against Kang Sung Hoon and his fan club, Hoony World.

On January 1st, Kang Sung Hoon went to Hoony World to make his official statement on the decision. His statement reads as follows:

Following unexpected misunderstandings, I am even more cautious in expressing my official position.

Currently, I can not predict when my return will be due to problems with my mental health. I decided that continuing to curb the activities of SECHSKIES was causing great inconvenience to others. After careful consideration, I spoke with YG Entertainment and reached a mutual agreement to terminate my exclusive contract on December 31, 2018 and for me. to let go of all SECHSKIES activities.

I am really sorry for not being able to meet the expectations of the fans who waited for me despite the long hiatus and those who remembered me and greeted me warmly. I sincerely apologize to the SECHSKIES team for the damage it suffered due to circumstances that weighed on me. And I want to sincerely thank all those who have supported me as Kang Sung Hoon of SECHSKIES for a long time.
