Police held a meeting with Chinese authorities with the aim of detecting a fleeing businessman, Low Taek Jho, said today the Inspector General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
Without disclosing the details of the meeting, Fuzi said that currently, Low had not been found and that efforts to detect it were still ongoing.
"The police also communicate with Interpol and the status is the same," he said at the end of a meeting at the highest level between the Customs Department and the police in Genting Highlands.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said the government would continue its efforts to find the businessman, while conceding that it would be difficult.
According to investigators from Malaysia and the United States, Low was reportedly escaped from his detention in Hong Kong, an island near Macau, following a multi-billion dollar scandal.
