KUALA LUMPUR: PKR's Anwar Ibrahim claims to have evidence that PAS has paid Sarawak Report's editor-in-chief Clare Rewcastle-Brown for an amicable settlement of the defamation lawsuit between British journalist Abdul Hadi Awang.
This comes a day after PAS was fired by Anwar, who asked if there was a payment involved in the settlement.
Anwar announced today that he will unveil more details at a campaign event in Semenyih tonight.
"I have enough information to show that NOT has paid Clare. I have evidence, "he told reporters at an event organized by the Kumpulan Utusan media group.
He was responding to a statement by PAS Secretary-General Takiyuddin Hassan, who said PAS did not have to pay any fees because it was not even a party to the prosecution. .
Rewcastle-Brown, in an article published by the Sarawak Report in August 2017, suggested that senior SAP leaders could have received 90 million RM from Najib Razak.
Both parties agreed to a settlement agreement last month.
