Football: Carlsberg extends sponsorship deal with Liverpool FC

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – Danish brewer Carlsberg said on Thursday that he and Liverpool FC have agreed to extend their sponsorship deal with the football club until season 2023-24, the longest running partnership in the English Premier League. .

Liverpool, who finished second behind Manchester City in the English national championship this season and will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final next week, has been sponsored by Carlsberg since 1992.

"The relationship between Carlsberg and Liverpool FC is iconic and we are extremely proud to have been part of the family for over a quarter of a century," said Jessica Spence, Carlsberg's Commercial Director.

Last month, Carlsberg launched a limited edition beer at Liverpool FC with a red bottle and tag to celebrate the decision of former manager Bill Shankly to play in a 100% red kit.

Liverpool FC, founded in 1892, has won 18 league titles, 7 Cups of England and 5 Cups of Europe.

Carlsberg, founded in 1847, is the third brewer in the world behind Anheuser Busch Inbev and Heineken.
