A fantastic beast producer defends his decision to expand from 3 to 5 movies

Fantastic Beasts producer, David Heyman, recently spoke of the decision to extend the series to five films from an originally planned trilogy.

In an interview with Collider, Heyman answered a question about the extension: "It was not a difficult conversation to have in the studio … it was not heard by anyone [Rowling] and saying: "You know what? Let me milk that. Both in all fairness for the studio, but also for Jo. Although this may seem to some people, this is not cynical. That's all of his head. "

Later in the interview, Heyman said that he knew the title of the third film, which could be released in 2020, and confirmed that the five films would start with the nickname "Fantastic Beasts".

Rowling announced that the trilogy would be expanded in 2016, saying that considering a trilogy was "a kind of placeholder." Earlier this year, director David Yates confirmed that each film would take place in a different city: the first took place in New York, while Grindelwald's crimes take place largely in Paris.
