A former soldier was sentenced today to 18 months in prison and 15 canes by the Johor Bahru District Court for incest and sodomizing his daughter.
Judge Jailani Rahman sentenced the man to 18 years in prison and 10 incest canes, as well as six years and five canes after convicting him on both counts.
He was ordered to serve the sentences of imprisonment simultaneously as of today.

The 44-year-old man threatened the then 17-year-old girl with a samurai sword on her neck so that she would not defend herself.
Under section 376B of the Penal Code, the charge provides for imprisonment for up to 30 years and a flogging sentence, by conviction.
On the second count, he was charged under section 377C of the Criminal Code with sodomizing the girl, who is epileptic.
The man appealed the suspension of the sentence and obtained a deposit of 12,000 RM.
