The Bundesliga champions hope to seal a move for the 18-year-old in January.
The Englishman has more than 18 months on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, but he is slow to sign an overtime because of his lack of chances for the first team.

Hudson-Odoi has seen his fellow young Englishman Jadon Sancho flourish since the Premier League's exchange against Germany and is now tempted to follow in his footsteps.
Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal are also interested in the Under-17 World Cup, but Bayern is leading the pack, according to The Sun.
The German giants have missed Sancho and no longer want to make the same mistake with a player who, in their opinion, could be the long-term successor of the pair winger Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
The Blues are not willing to sell the local starlet and any potential transaction would require significant transfer fees.
