City denies hiring thugs to provoke clashes at the temple – Nation

PETALING JAYA: A development town has denied hiring thugs to start riots at Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman in the USJ recently.

In a press release issued by the subsidiary of MCT Bhd, it "categorically denies the hiring or permission to hire thugs to start riots" at the temple.

"The on-site staff was tasked with providing logistical support and assisting in orderly relocation under police surveillance.

"He continues to cooperate with police authorities as part of the investigation into the incident," he added.

Police reportedly arrested 21 people related to the crash.

Selangor police commissioner Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the police were looking into the possible brain behind the incident.

He added that the police also monitored the situation.
