Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Griezmann hope to win the prestigious Ballon d'Or this year.
Messi was in great shape for Barcelona in 2018, propelling the Catalan giants into a double double in La Liga and Copa del Rey.
Ronaldo, however, continues to mature as a good wine, beating Real Madrid for a third consecutive win in the Champions League, before moving to Juventus thanks to a transfer contract of 105 million pounds.
Between them, the two men have won the Golden Ball every year since 2007, when AC Milan's hero AC Kaka won the award.
Simeone however believes that Griezmann deserves this honor.
The boss of Atletico, who oversaw Griezmann's spectacular rise over the last three years, said: "We can say that Cristiano [Ronaldo] and Lionel Messi are the best footballers in the world.
"But not in 2018.
"At this turn, Antoine was superior to everyone, no one did what he did for his teams.
"When a footballer assures that any team can work on the basis of his brain, his value is invaluable."
Griezmann started the year by being asked to leave Atletico for Barcelona or Manchester United.
However, despite the speech of transfer, he still intensified his efforts for the giants of La Liga.
Griezmann returned Atletico to the Europa League title, scoring two goals in the 3-0 win over Marseille.
He followed then by winning the World Cup of France in Russia.
And Simeone thinks that the team of Didier Deschamps owes his triumph to Griezmann's brilliance.
"France plays with his intelligence and when he feels good physically and mentally, no player in the world can see and play football as he does," he added.
"And even beyond the titles he's won this season, from the World Cup, Europa League and European Super Cup, no footballer has been more important for the team that Griezmann. "
